The COVID period has been fraught with uncertainties about the future. Unexpected and disparate events became woven into the fabric of our everyday life, where the evolving virus posed an ever-present menace and forced on us a new perspective on life. Reflecting on these uncertainties and changes, I started to juxtapose sections of different monotypes and mixed-media works to create a work with its own narrative. Gleaning sections from a nearly one hundred monotypes to assemble new works and discovering new meanings, this was a challenging yet exciting endeavor.
